A ‘floating' glass box kitchen extension and remodelling of a period family home within the Leamington Spa Conservation Area.
The project involved the updating and reconfiguration of an existing Regency villa, including the replanning of the kitchen and dining areas into a more family-friendly open-plan arrangement, and the addition of a utility room and downstairs WC to improve functionality. A large, full height oriel window provides additional floor area and circulation space to the kitchen area, whilst the dining area benefits from new glazed doors out onto the courtyard garden. The works also included the retrofitting of thermal insulation to the fabric of the original house, to reduce heat loss and improve energy efficiency.
